Changes to services from 21 July

Following a review on our current routes and times, some changes are being introduced from the 21st of July.  These changes have been made to improve our services and overall punctuality and to match our resources to demand. 

1 & 2: Route revised to operate via Dumballs Road and not Bute Street in addition on Mondays to Fridays journeys are diverted to serve Ocean Way Business Park throughout the daytime.  Timetable revised to focus timings for workers and visitors to Heath Hospital.  Clickhere to preview new timetable.

8, 9 & 9A: Service revised to run as route 8 or 9 and frequency revised for each service to every 20 minutes during the daytime and will be operated with bigger buses.  For Paget Street and Channel View see new service 9A below – please note that some early morning and evening journeys on route 9 will divert via Channel View.  Some journeys continue across the city as route 11 to Splott, Tremorfa and Pengam Green.  Click here to preview new timetable.

11, 12 & 13: Services will be split to operate either from Drope & Ely to the city centre or Pengam Green, Tremorfa and Splott to the city centre.  New service 11 will operate from Pengam Green, Tremorfa and Splott to the city centre every 10 minutes Mondays to Saturdays daytime and 30 minutes during the evenings and Sundays.  From the city centre to Drope via Broad Street, Landowne Road and Cowbridge Road West will now be route 12 in both directions and through Canton to Ely and Drope will now be route 13 in both directions.  Some journeys on route 11 continue across the city centre to Cardiff Bay or Sports Village.  Some journeys on routes 12 and 13 continue across the city too as routes 28 or 29.   Click here to preview new service 11 timetable and click hereto preview new 12 & 13 timetable.

17 & 18: Sunday evening frequency will be reduced and the last bus will operate as one route only.  Click here to preview new timetable.

21 &  23: Between the city Centre and Whitchurch (route 23 from the city and route 21 to the city) revised to operate direct via The Philog and Gabalfa Flyover.  Click here to preview new timetable.

27: Route revised in Llanishen and Thornhill to operate as the current route to Thornhill Road (nine Giants) then via Templeton Avenue, Heol Hir, Excalibur Drive and return via the existing route along Excalibur Drive, Heol Hir and Templeton Avenue.  Click here to preview new timetable.

28,  29 &  29B: New timetable with some journeys continuing across the city as route 12 or 13.  Click here to preview new timetable.

33, 33A, 33B, 60, 62, 62A, 101 & 102 – these services are replaced by the following newservices:

15: From the Central Bus Station – Ely – Heath Hospital via Canton, Cowbridge Road West, Amroth Road, Penally Road, Heol Trelai, Cwrt-yr-Ala Road, Sweldon Hil, Green Farm Road, Grand Avenue, Cowbridge Road West then direct via Western Avenue to Heath Hospital.  This service will operate hourly Mondays to Fridays.   Click here to preview new timetable.

62, 63: Central Bus Station, Cathedral Road, Llandaff, Danescourt – journey on route 63 extend twice per hour to Radyr. Combined routes operate Danescourt, Llandaff to the City Centre every 20 minutes.  Most journeys on route 62 will return to the city centre as new 66 service below.   Click here to preview new timetable.

64/65: Central Bus Station, Canton, Fairwater, Pentrebane, Danesourt, Llandaff North, Whitchurch, Birchgrove, Heath Hospital, Albany Road, Colchester Avenue, Llanrumney and St. Mellons.  Click here to preview new timetable.

66: Central Station to Danescourt via Canton, Llandaff, Pencisely Road and Keyston Road.  Most journey return to the city centre as new service 62 above.   Click here to preview new timetable.

35 & 36: New timetable with 2 journeys per hour during the daytime to operate as route 36 via North Road direct to the city centre.  Click hereto preview new timetable.

38 & 39: All journeys revised to operate as route 38 every 10 minutes during the daytime Monday to Saturday, every 15 minutes on Sundays and every 20 minutes during the evenings.  Clickhere to preview new timetable.

44, 44B, 45 & 45: New timetable and journeys diverted via Matthysens Way and Harrison Drive in St. Mellons to serve the Beacons Centre.  Click here to preview new timetable.

85: Renumbered to 86 and revised to operate from the city centre and Lisvane only.  Route in Lisvane revised to follow evening route and operate clockwise from Llanishen Village via Heol Hir, Cherry Orchard Road to Lisvane and back to Llanishen Village.  Off peak journeys will start and end at Central Bus Station.  Click hereto preview new timetable.

91: New summer Sunday service operating from 22 July and every Sunday and bank Holiday Monday until 22 September from Cardiff Central Bus Station to Mermaid Quay and Penarth Pier.  Click here to preview new timetable.

92, 93 &  94:  New timetable to operate every 10 minutes between Cardiff and Penarth then once per hour to Barry via Dinas Powys, twice per hour to Barry via Sully and three times per hour to St. Lukes Avenue.  The section of route between Barry and Highlight Park on route 94 will be discontinued and replaced by new route 98.  Sunday evening journeys on route 92 are withdrawn.  Click here to preview new timetable.

95: Service revised to operate every 15 minutes between Cardiff and Llandough, with two journeys continuing to Barry via current 95 route and 2 continuing via Redlands Road and Stanwell Road to Penarth Town Centre as route 95A.  Two journeys per hour also revised to start at Heath Hospital and operate direct into the city centre.  Click here to preview new timetable.
