Plymouth bus £1.6m Bus Investment

Ten of the latest state of the art Volvo Euro 5 low emission single deck buses are now in production by the Northern Ireland coachbuilders Wrightbus following a £1.6 million order from Plymouth Citybus. The new Eclipse 2 buses will offer greater comfort with leather seating, child buggy and wheel chair spaces, for passengers on Route 43 between the city centre and Ernesettle.
Plymouth Citybus Managing Director Andrew Wickham said that the 41 seat buses, based on a Volvo B7RLE chassis with their distinctively large digital destination displays, will replace older buses on their fleet during March and April.
“This is the largest single order for buses in Plymouth for at least 5 years and demonstrates the Go Ahead Group’s long term commitment to our customers. Wrightbus will supply the vehicles in our smart livery launched last February (2011)”
